Mission
Statement
To initiate life-long involvement in the arts by making them integral
to every child's education.
History
Young Audiences of Massachusetts is the leading source
for arts education programs in the Commonwealth. Since 1962, we have been
the vital link between Massachusetts' best performing artists and the
region's school children. Our mission is to initiate lifelong involvement
in the arts by making them integral to every child's education.
Young Audiences of Massachusetts is affiliated
with a national network of 31 Young Audiences' chapters, comprising
the largest arts education network in the country. Every year, YA
provides over 220,000 student/artist interactions through 1,500 performances, workshops and residencies in 450 sites.
Only through Young Audiences can students experience
such a broad range of programs - everything from African drumming
to Shakespeare. And only through Young Audiences can schools tailor
these programs to their specific needs - from a one-time performance
to multi-week programs.
