Tales from Greek Mythology

K-8 Blow the dust off stories from ancient Greece and bring the power, majesty, and magic of Mount Olympus to life! Mythmasters enlightens your teachers’ units on Greek mythology and explores the stories of Phaeton and Helios, Orpheus and Eurydice, and Echo and Narcissus. Through a skillful blend of mime, comedy, drama, puppets, masks, costumes, music, reverence, irreverence, and lots of audience participation, the gods and goddesses, heroes and villains, monsters and maidens of Greek mythology walk the earth once more. The Shakespeare Guyz

Avon Calling!

5-12 Through humor, costumed swordfights, Elizabethan insults, and complete audience involvement, Richard McElvain and David Zucker bring the bard’s genius to life. From Hamlet’s grief over Yoric’s skull to the balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet to an over-the-top version of Pyramus and Thisbe, David and Richard reawaken a hunger for the bard in the classroom. The Shakespeare Guyz challenge students to make personal connections with Shakespeare’s themes and realize the power of Shakespeare’s legacy. Bring the bard to your school with The Shakespeare Guyz!

Tanglewood Marionettes

Tanglewood Marionettes is a nationally touring marionette theater based in Massachusetts. Skilled puppeteers who have spent many years perfecting their art perform classic tales. Tanglewood Marionettes travels with a self-contained marionette stage that has integrated lighting and sound systems. The programs are presented with the marionettists in full view, so that the audience can witness firsthand the mechanics of puppet manipulation.

Perseus and Medusa

1-12 Take a trip back in time to the dawn of civilization, to an ancient world of gods, goddesses, prophecies, and heroes. In this masterful production, your students will accompany Perseus through personal trials and glorious quests. Join Tanglewood Marionettes for its lavish production featuring beautiful handcrafted marionettes, scrolling sets, exotic music, and much more.

The Fairy Circus

PreK-3 Tanglewood Marionettes’ presentation of The Fairy Circus begins with a demonstration of the art of puppetry. Through humorous interplay, the audience will learn about various forms of puppets, from the simple glove puppet to the sophisticated marionette. Then it’s on with the show! Featuring over twenty beautifully handcrafted marionettes, The Fairy Circus is a showcase for turn-of-the-century-style trick puppetry. The puppets will dance, play instruments, juggle, contort, transform, and fly through the air with the greatest of ease, all to the best-loved music of favorite composers!
